Medcloud alternative: compare with Laudos.AI
Medcloud is a cloud PACS with AI agents from Zaail: Laraa distributes dictated findings into the template sections and Sentinel flags possible critical findings, inside Medcloud PACS. Laudos.AI works with the PACS and RIS the clinic already uses and delivers the finished report from natural speech, sourced classification (GUIDE), reporting over WhatsApp (LaudAI) and critical finding communication through to confirmation by the recipient, with deadline, escalation and a per-exam record (CRIT).
What is the difference between Medcloud and Laudos.AI in 2026?
At Medcloud, AI comes with the PACS: to use Laraa and Sentinel, the clinic uses Medcloud PACS. At Laudos.AI, AI enters the workflow the clinic already has, without switching PACS or RIS, and covers the report and what comes after signing.
| Criterion | Medcloud (Laraa, Sentinel) | Laudos.AI |
|---|---|---|
| PACS and RIS | AI runs inside Medcloud PACS, a 100% cloud PACS. | Works with the PACS and RIS the clinic already uses: Agent in the web RIS and integration via HL7 v2, FHIR R4 and DICOM-SR. |
| Report production | Laraa transcribes dictated findings and distributes them into the sections of the chosen template. | The physician dictates findings in natural speech and receives technique, findings and impression ready in their own template, with memory of how they report. |
| Critical findings | Sentinel flags possible critical findings and supports communication with the teams; deadline, receipt confirmation and escalation not found on the public pages checked on October 20, 2026. | CRIT: deadline, receipt confirmation, escalation and per-exam record, under the institution's protocol. |
| Classifications | Thyros for TI-RADS. | GUIDE with 121 versioned, citable systems in RadCommons. |
| After signing | Flaare flags inconsistencies using user-defined keyword pairs. | RADAR: divergent laterality and measurements for peer review, recommendations for follow-up and report × billing × authorization before invoicing. |
| Reporting from a phone | Not found on the public pages checked on October 20, 2026. | LaudAI on WhatsApp: audio, text, image and video. |
| Published evidence | “Up to 4x faster”, with no method or sample. | Median of 52 s of physician work, from opening the editor to signing, across 5,200 production reports, with public methodology. |
| Pricing | Monthly PACS subscription, on request. | Pro BRL 299/month for the radiologist; institutions get a proposal and a free, selective pilot. |

Flag the critical finding or close the loop?
Flagging the finding is the beginning. CRIT controls the rest: who needs to receive it, how fast, receipt confirmation, escalation when the deadline passes and the per-exam record, as required by CFM Opinion 20/2019 and the CBR guidelines on relevant findings.
Without switching PACS
Switching PACS to get AI is a migration project. Laudos.AI works within the PACS and RIS the clinic already uses, with integration validated by system and version, and the institutional pilot defines scope, integration and acceptance criteria in writing.
In any tool, the physician interprets the exam and signs the report, as required by CFM Resolution 2,454/2026.
Individual Pro costs BRL 299/month, with up to 1,000 reports per month. The new-user trial ends after 14 days or up to 30 reports, whichever comes first. Institutions receive a proposal with scope, integration and pilot conditions defined in writing.
Frequently asked questions
Why choose Laudos.AI over Medcloud?
Because Laudos.AI does not require switching PACS: it works within the PACS and RIS the clinic already uses. And it closes the critical finding loop with deadline, receipt confirmation, escalation and per-exam record (CRIT), in addition to the finished report from natural speech, sourced classification (GUIDE), LaudAI on WhatsApp and RADAR after signing.
Does Medcloud's Sentinel communicate the critical finding?
Medcloud describes Sentinel as an agent that flags possible critical findings and supports communication with the teams. Its public pages checked on October 20, 2026 do not describe deadline, receipt confirmation or escalation. Laudos.AI's CRIT publishes all four.
Do I need Medcloud PACS to use Laraa?
Yes. Medcloud presents Laraa as natively integrated with Medcloud PACS, inside its report editor. Laudos.AI works with the PACS the clinic already uses, with the report taken into the web RIS by the Agent or integrated via HL7 v2, FHIR R4 and DICOM-SR.
